This year is off to a rough start - a couple of clients have delayed payment, which leaves me in the unfortunate position of either paying rent very late or not being able to pay it at all. If you've been thinking of commissioning me, now would be a fantastic time to do so!

Eh, don't worry about it. It looks like arrangements are being made - I'd rather clients proceed at a pace they're comfortable with than feel pressured into payment. Besides, it's not like we agreed to deadlines or set any dates for production, and it would be unprofessional of me to impose expectations retroactively.

(I think the lesson here is a refresher on the old "always have more work than you can get to, as opposed to just enough work to keep things going.")

Related, I'm thinking of starting a tumblr and/or gumroad and/or retooling my Patreon page for something a bit more in line with my DA work - it's clear that I need to diversify!

Commissions! (November - December, 2017)I'll spare you the details - the short form is it looks like, much like October, I'm not going to make rent (or bills!) without commissions.
The slightly longer form is that my regular billable gig continues to be lean and is historically all but nonexistant during the holi-daze, Webcomic hosting ate a critical chunk of change, and I'm still dealing with the fallout if this summer's mental health crisis.

Content and General Guidelines

Addendum: I've been extremely slow in answering notes and haven't actually done anything with commissions since creating this journal post a couple of weeks ago. I can only juggle so many things at once and the part of my schedule that is traditionally allocated to commission work has been occupied by a contract for the past few months. I had anticipated the work to be complete a couple of weeks ago and had started to schedule commissions accordingly, but things just haven't played out that way. Firstly, I want to thank the anonymous user who gave me a 3-month Premium Membership. I don't use the features much, but I like the journal themes, so thank you!

Secondly, I wanted to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday! Being at college, nothing excited happened except classes and work, but I did get to help out at a dodgeball tournament our club hosted, so that was kinda fun.
Thirdly, who else enjoyed the 70=80 degree temperatures and gorgeous weather on Friday + Saturday? Cause I know I did! It was short lived (back to rainy, windy, and cool) but I hope you all made the most of it! I drove up to Teatown Reservation to see if there was any growth, but there was very few. In all seriousness, I wanna start to make commissions. After talking to Alyssa (walkingmelons on youtube) about prices, I'm leaning towards following her policy. So if you want to commission me here are some details:
A fully colored digital drawing (like this one): $40 (may charge extra if there are more than 2 characters)
A fully colored digital drawing only focusing on the upper body part: $30
Since I'm just starting with the commission thing I wanna take it slowly and patiently, maybe in a future I'll be able to draw only sketched or simple colored drawings which will be cheaper, but for now I'll focus on what I know I can do better. If you are interested, send me a note named "Commission" and then add what you want. I'm thinking I can only take maybe 2 commissions per week to get started, when I get the hang of it I'll probably be able to take more in.
